Angry Birds coming to Xbox Live, Playstation Network, and WiiWare

The popular mobile game Angry Birds will soon be coming to your television screen. Developer Rovio has announced that the game will be headed to Xbox Live, Playstation Network, and WiiWare. We don’t have a release date or prices yet though.

In case you’ve been living in a cave, the game has been a huge hit on iOS, Android, and webOS. The game should be released for the three big consoles prior to the release of an Angry Birds sequel. So soon you will be able to enjoy it on the big screen.

Nintendo launches Wii system menu 4.0At long last Nintendo is finally doing something about storage. Finally. You can back up titles to SD and now games can be played straight from the cards. The SD Card Menu can be accessed from the Wii System Menu 4.0. That’s the new update that we are getting right now.

It lets the Wii work with memory cards larger than 2GB, maxing out at 32GB. Nintendo is also launching the new Virtual Console Arcade, that gives you all the old arcade titles on the Wii.

WiiWare My Life as a game downloadable game for the Nintendo WiiNintendo has announced the launch of its WiiWare game download service for the Nintendo Wii. This launch comes almost a year after Nintendo announced the WiiWare game development platform last June. If you’ve hooked up your Wii game console to the Internet you can connect to the Wii shop channel, buy some Wii points and start downloading some new games online.

The Wii points exchange rate is at $1 USD to 100 Wii points and the online games run from 500 to 1,500 Wii points each with six games initially available. The service offers games built my independent developers that they can then post and sell through the Wii Shop Channel. The initial game lineup is different in the U.S. than those launching in Japan with the single exception of Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: My Life As a King, which launches in both.

Wii Fit and WiiWare coming to U.S. May 19

Nintendo says Wii Fit and WiiWare will be coming to the United States in MayWe’ve gotten another word about the Wii Fit availability, this time pushing its U.S. release up a day to May 19 instead of the 20th. The Wii Fit is a motion and weight sensitive balance board for use with Nintendo’s Wii game console which will provide new types of interactive games and exercises.

Along with this, Nintendo has also announced that the WiiWare service will also launch in the U.S. in May. This service allows third party game developers to create games for the Wii that take advantage of motion sensitive controllers. Once this launches we are sure to see some more very interesting uses for the Wii remote and Nunchuck. These games will then be available for download through the Wii Shop Channel.

WiiWare Game development service from NintendoNintendo today announced a new game-creation service called WiiWare which will open up game development for anyone to create games to play on the Nintendo Wii game console.

The WiiWare service will enable developers from around the world to create new and unique games that take advantage of the popular, motion-sensitive Wii controllers. If you thought there were some strange and interesting games available that utilize Remote and Nunchuk now, just wait.

While the popularity of the Wii game console along with the massive fun people have with it may alone be enough incentive to draw some developers, Nintendo may also offer the chance for them to make some bank from their game creations. Game creators will have their Wii games placed online on the Wii Shop Channel which can be viewed and downloaded by the masses through redeeming Wii points. …
