Viewsonic ViewPad 10 Gets Android 2.2 Froyo

Posted in Tablet PC by Conner Flynn on May 3rd, 2011

Good news for Viewsonic ViewPad 10 owners. The ViewPad 10 is finally being upgraded from Android 1.6 to Android 2.2. That should make current users happy and also attract new buyers. The Viewsonic ViewPad boasts a 10.1 inch display with a 1024 x 600 pixel resolution, and comes with a 1.66GHz Intel Atom processor and 2GB of RAM.

There are two different models available for your consideration, a 16GB version which comes with Windows 7 Home Premium and Android 2.2 or a 32GB version that has Windows 7 professional and Android 2.2. Choose wisely.

It took awhile, but ViewSonic’s dual-booting ViewPad 10 is finally coming to America. The dual booting Android 1.6 + Windows 7 tablet features a 10.1-inch touchpanel (1024 x 600), 1.66GHz Atom CPU, 2GB of RAM, Bluetooth 2.1, 802.11b/g/n WiFi, and a 1.3 megapixel front-facing camera.

There’s also a microSD slot and a copy of Windows Home 7 Premium (with a 16GB SSD) or Windows 7 Professional (with a 32GB SSD). It will cost you $599 and $679. That’s too bad about the ancient version of Android on board.
