LG BL40 unveiledLG’s latest Chocolate handset, the BL40 has been unveiled. It packs a 4″ widescreen high definition LCD display at 800 x 354 resolution, which is a first for cellphones. That gives you an aspect ratio of 21:9, which comes in handy for a Dual Screen UI.

It’s a beauty alright. The new LG Chocolate’s screen is overlaid with curved tempered glass seamlessly encased in a glossy black finish with red highlights. No word on pricing, but the new LG Chocolate should be available in 54 countries in Q3.

Windows Mobile 6.5 OS unveiledIt’s been long overdue and at long last Microsoft has redesigned the Windows Mobile interface. No doubt users will like the honeycomb layout and the Zune-like feel. Things are not only meant to be finger friendly, but are designed to be used with one hand. The design on some of the screens has clearly been inspired by Windows Media Center and much of the information can be accessed by simply swiping up/down, left/right.

Martin Jetpack gets unveiled

Martin Jetpack gets unveiled
The Martin Jetpack is defined by the FAA as an “experimental ultralight airplane, equipped with a gas-powered, V-4 piston engine and two ducted fans that provide the lift.” The jetpack was unveiled among an enthusiastical crowd in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. It will allow the flyer to hover for about 30 minutes and rise to 8,000 feet.

It will cost you $100,000 and you’ll have to complete 15 hours of flight training as well as undergo a “safety screening.” I’m getting flashbacks of 70’s TV. Back when it seemed that everyone used a jetpack in at least one episode of their show. I can just see that trend being revived today. How would you like to see House tossing his cane and taking off? Video below.
