Ulysse Nardin unveils awesome Freak Diavolo Rolf 75

Posted in Watches by Shane McGlaun on September 16th, 2010

Most of us buy watches, assuming we even wear a watch, that are relatively cheap. There are some wealthy folks out there that buy watches more as a fashion statement than to tell time. One of the watchmakers that produce some of the coolest designs is Ulysse Nardin.

The latest creation from the maker is to celebrate the company owner’s 75 birthday. The watch is a limited edition and only 75 will be sold globally. The watch is called the Freak Diavolo Rolf 75. The cool part about the watch is that it lacks a true dial, crown, and hands. The pieces and gears that make the watch are exposed for all to see.

If you’re looking for an Android powered luxury phone, check this one out. Hopefully you have a spare $49,500 to buy this updated Ulysse Nardin Chairman phone. It has to be the most expensive Android phone ever. At least until they do it up in gold and diamonds and jack up that price.

Originally the phone was to be powered by Windows Mobile, but now it has the Android OS. Some features include a 3.2-inch capacitive touchscreen display, fingerprint recognition, 3G, a Facebook app preloaded, 8-megapixel camera, HD video playback, 32GB internal memory, and an ARM-based Freescale i.MX processor.

Ulysse Nardin hybrid smart phoneUlysse Nardin’s upcoming Chairman will be officially unveiled at Baselworld later this month. It’s billed as a “hybrid smart phone” and before you ask, no you can’t afford it. It will feature a visible, fully-functional kinetic rotor that will assist it in getting power, just like in a mechanical wristwatch.

There are not a ton of details, but we know that it’ll be unlocked and limited to 1,846 pieces. Full details should arrive around March 26 when Baselworld kicks off. You can use that time to save up, steal, sell all of your possessions, and still fall short of it’s asking price.
