Daily Shelter, a table that turns into a fort

Posted in Furniture by Conner Flynn on January 18th, 2010

Kids love to hide under tables. Problem is they don’t make great forts, since every side is exposed and the adults occasionally like to eat on it. The “Daily Shelter” by artist Ingrid Brandth is a dining-room table that kids will love.

It converts to a secret fort. First, it’s an ordinary table. But it can secretly turn into a shelter where kids can hide from scary ghosts or just use their imagination. Ask any kid, there’s nothing cooler than a fort. A table that turns into a fort? Pure awesomeness.

OmniZero.9 transforms, carries humans awayRobots are getting braver and less fearful of humans everyday. Take the OmniZero.9 from Takeshi Maeda. This ninth version of his creation is a humanoid bot with huge wheel shoulders and knees that allow it to move around like a car on the ground.

But that isn’t the only cool feature. The head tilts back creating a seat for any human dumb enough to get on and be whisked away. Never to be heard from again. The robot was showing off at ROBO-ONE Check out the videos below.

Flatscreen TV hides under the bed, transforms like an autobot

Posted in Television by Conner Flynn on October 28th, 2008

Some clever person has rigged a huge flat screen TV under his bed, using a sliding and rotating mechanism that allows it slide under the bed when not in use and also pop out at the foot of your bed when you want to watch TV. Either that, or we have an authentic transformer on our hands. It’s got to be the coolest way ever to watch TV in bed. It’s so awesome that I dare say most wives can even be talked into incorporating this into the bed frame. Until you start ignoring her for your shows anyway.
