Though you may not realize it, other foods taste good with a healthy does of smoke too, if this magic refrigerator box thing is any indication. Add some smoke flavor to anything. Mac and cheese, steak, chicken, peanut butter and jelly, eggs…

The Smokin’ Tex Hot-or-Cold Smoker lets you add that smoky taste to any and every food you want. Just add some wood chips in the smoker box, select the temperature and close the door. Smoke detectors are a necessity. They save more lives every year, but as far as looking nice and blending in with your home, forget it. They’re an eye-sore. Kidde has decided to make them easier to live with, with their latest model. It hangs from your ceiling a mere half-inch and the face plate features a slick contour design. But it’s not all about good looks alone.

It’s actually AC powered with a sealed rechargeable backup battery that will last for the life of the alarm. If your electricity goes out, the Silhouette will continue to operate using the battery, which will recharge itself when power is restored. You can even link it to other smoke detectors and security devices in your home. Of course, installation is a bit more involved because of the AC power, but it’s a great alternative.

Dirty Wiis: A Super Smash Bros. BustIf you’re one of the many who grabbed themselves a copy of Super Smash Bros. for the Wii this weekend, you may or may not be able to get the game to play, depending on how dirty your Wii is. Apparently they had some issues in the Japanese versions of the game that are now starting to pop up here in the US.

Super Smash Bros. Brawl uses a double-layer disc with a large memory capacity. This means that a small percentage of Wii consoles may have trouble reading data off this large capacity disc if there is contamination on the lens of the disc drive. So, if you are a heavy smoker for instance, you may have a hard time playing. Apparently, Nintendo has specialized cleaning equipment that can resolve this problem and they urge you not to try cleaning it yourself.

The OneLink Carbon Monoxide and Smoke Detector with Voice Alert is a pretty clever device, that can be programmed with alerts relating to its location, so if the alarm goes off, you know without a doubt where it’s happening. will shout a warning like, “Smoke in Kitchen,” or, “Carbon Monoxide in basement.”

At 85dB loud, it should wake up just about anyone. It is battery powered and connects wirelessly to other alarms in your home. The price is not too bad at $99.99. Especially if it saves your life. The fact that this device automatically tells you what’s going on, will end up saving more lives then a typical detector and should probably be the new standard in homes.
