Details on Ericsson’s sleek W30 series 3G routers

Posted in Routers by Conner Flynn on May 31st, 2009

Ericsson's W3x Series HSPA Mobile Broadband RoutersEricsson is introducing the concept that routers can be sexy with the company’s new W30 and W35 models. Sleek, sexy and they will supposedly do 7.2Mbps down and 2.0Mbps up on three HSPA bands in addition to quadband EDGE.

Both models offer 802.11b / g and four Ethernet ports for routing high-speed WWAN data however you want. The W35 throws in two RJ11 ports on board for VoIP connectivity and should be shipping in early June. So make some room for it and wait patiently.

Radio Valerie has sleek curves, smokes an antenna

Radio Valerie has sleek curves, smokes an an antennaRadio Valerie, designed by Valentin Vodev, is a radio concept that is at the same time sultry and silly. Sultry thanks to it’s curves, silly because I swear it looks like this thing is smoking an antenna or has an antenna thermometer.

You can fully control the radio without having using buttons or switches, since the antenna acts as your control stick to find stations, and a speaker up top can be turned to control the volume. I don’t know, it looks like a dancing cigarette butt.

Dell’s “Adamo” could be lighter, thinner than MacBook Air

Dell’s “Adamo” could be lighter, thinner than MacBook AirHave a look at this teaser site and while you’re at it, this site. Looks like Dell has a laptop coming that could be both lighter and thinner than the MacBook Air. A Dell that is sleek? Is that possible? Apparently.

Tatelman, Dell’s VP of consumer sales and marketing seems to have given it away, when asked about whether or not Dell had an Air-like product in store. Tatelman’s reaction? His “mouth gaped open and his eyes darted away from my face”. Tatelman then said:
“I think we need to get some iconic products out there, so people associate Dell’s brand with other things.” That would be goodbye to clunky, and hello to sleek.

XYZ Computer Desk: True desktop PC

XYZ Computer Desk: True desktop PC
The XYZ Computer Desk has an awesome sleek design and gives the Sync some competition. It’s beautiful and at the same time easily upgradeable. The best part of course, is that you have the full computer right there, but it’s taking up no extra room.

All of the components and cables are inside the desk. Whenever you need to upgrade, just open the lid. The CDRW/DVD, USB and Hot Keys are on the side. It’s just a concept at the moment, but I wouldn’t be at all surprised to see it go into production. It certainly makes life easier and saves space. Plus, it’s just plain pleasant to look at.

The Humax LCD TV is all about the future

Humax LCD TV is all about the future
And everyone knows that in the future everything will look like The Jetsons. We’ll have floating cities with escalators attached and robots will steal old people’s medicine, but that’s another story. This Humax LCD TV concept is designed by London’s Tej Chauhan. It’s pretty “future-retro”, combining the old retro look with a fresh take on the World of Tomorrow.

Just think 1950’s era renderings of the future. The device would feel right at home in any number of old Sci-fi shows and movies. We have no idea if this will actually become an honest to god consumer product, but until it does, you can always check it out at the Zona Tortona design show, between April 16th to the 21st. If you happen to live in Italy. The rest of us will just have to watch the Jetsons.
