Skull mouse is the creepiest steampunk mouse ever

Posted in DIY by Conner Flynn on August 23rd, 2009

Skull mouse is the creepiest steampunk mouse everUsually I see a good steampunk designed gadget and I want it. On this one I think I’ll pass. But if you are a member of the Addams family or the Munsters, this may be your ideal point and click device. Even the mouse made from real mouse parts wasn’t this creepy.

This morbid monstrosity of a mouse was created by steampunk artist Ivan Mavrovic. On his site, he says, “”the sheep dyed naturall death”. Well that may be somewhat comforting for the sheep, I don’t want to push this one around all day. Makes me feel sheepish.

Botropolis: This week in robotsIt’s Friday. That means it’s time to take a look at the week that was in robotics news. We saw all of the usual suspects over at Botropolis this week. Those that can kill us, those that can’t kill us but want to, those that clean up after us and those who plan to clean up after the last of us are dead. Here’s just some of what we covered this week.

DustCar Garbage Robot: He’s no Wall-E, but it’s a start.

RX-64: Servos that break bones.

KASPAR: Helping Kids With Autism.

Robot Sheep shearing: Do androids dream of shearing electric sheep?

Pong-playing LED sheep

Check this out. A bunch of Sheep herder dudes in the Uk got together and armed with a bunch of LEDs and a camera created some amazing moving art.

“We took to the hills of Wales armed to the teeth with sheep, LEDs and a camera, to create a huge amazing LED display.”

The best part? They create a giant Pong game with the LED wearing sheep. Sure there are a few stray pixels because the dumber ones can’t get it together, but it rocks.
