Nixon RPM Headphones

Posted in Headphones by Conner Flynn on April 19th, 2011

If you are in the market for a new pair of headphones, you might want to check out Nixon’s RPM headphones, which they have just announced. The RPM headphones are part of their Spring 2011 collection. Not the “Tricky Dick” or “I am not a crook” collection.

They are a DJ-style model that features a custom 40mm driver tuned specifically for DJ monitoring. Also unique gel filled ear cushions create a comfortable uniform seal, which is always important for good sound. They will cost you $200.

Tokyoflash Kisai RPM watch

Tokyoflash has released its latest watch design, the Kisai RPM. This is the first concept to become a reality from the Tokyoflash Design Studio Blog and it is based on an idea from a Tokyoflash fan from the UK, James Fursedon.

The Tokyoflash Kisai RPM is easy to read, unlike some of their watches. The hours are shown on the inner ring, while five minute intervals are shown on the outer ring. Four single minutes are positioned at the top of the display along side the AM/PM indicator. Lights showing the current time will flash for several seconds to make it easier to read.

iPod Cases made from old 45 RPM records

iPod Cases made from old 45 RPM recordsNow here’s a case for your iPod that is actually interesting and looks unique. These cases are made from old 45s, with a plexiglass window and a cork liner. You have to love this merging of the old format with the new. It just makes sense. And looks damn good.

I love how you can line up the record label in various ways and the center hole of the record is lined up with the iPod’s scroll wheel of course. These awesome cases were made by Contexture Design, but sadly they are completely sold out of the 45 cases right now. You can see why.
