Play Origami MP3 player

Posted in Concepts by Conner Flynn on February 22nd, 2010

Everyone’s MP3 player of choice may be the iPod, but every now and then we do see something different in a concept, which we would like to own. The Play MP3 player doesn’t have a touchscreen or buttons. Instead it works by doing origami.

Fold the player in half to play. If you want to rewind, just slide one of the pieces. Sure it isn’t practical, but Origami fans should love it. Still, we don’t expect to see this one anytime soon.

Origami Star Trek & Star Wars spaceships made from dollarsNowadays you probably don’t have much to do with your extra dollars, so here’s a good option. Make origami spaceships, like those from Star Trek and Star Wars, made entirely from folded dollar bills. The Millenium Falcon is a bit more expensive as it takes three dollar bills to get all that detail. It’s the work of Hawaii resident Won Park, whose next project is apparently Firefly’s Serenity. Awesome stuff.

Stormtrooper papercraft helmets are a fold above the restPapercraft is all the rage and we’ve seen some pretty cool stuff built into paper versions. This may be one of the coolest things yet. Imagine if you will an army of paper Stormtroopers. That’s scary. Now imagine an army of just their heads. That’s a dark-side nightmare. And it will surely happen when people realize that they can make their own.

You have to download .PDO papercraft files and a papercraft program called Pepakura Designer in to view them. Looks like they are in iPod Nano colors. You can download them here. Just make a bunch in different colors and decorate your room or something.
