Testers post photos from mystery Samsung GT-I9200 handset

Posted in Mobile Phones by Conner Flynn on November 30th, 2010

Some mysterious hints of an upcoming Samsung handset, known only as GT-i9200, have appeared on the web recently. No pictures of the device itself, just pictures that the device has taken. That’s because the device is being used by testers to take sample photos. The handset may be the Stealth V and not a new Nexus S, which goes by the i9020 codename.

That’s about all the info we have at the moment. Technical information on the handset is unknown and even the photos have been down scaled for the web so we can’t even guess at the camera’s resolution. We do love a good mystery though.

Mystery HTC smartphone runs Windows Phone 7

Posted in HTC by Conner Flynn on July 25th, 2010

Look what we have here. A mysterious HTC device that runs on the Windows Phone 7 operating system. We know that this device will feature a 1GHz Snapdragon processor, with a 3.7″ SLCD display and an 8-megapixel camera.

The hardware is ready, but there’s no word on any HTC Sense UI making an appearance on this model despite confirmation of the Sense UI’s availability on the Windows Phone 7 platform. Apparently HTC is currently talking with Verizon about the release of this phone Stateside, but until we hear something official this one will remain a mystery.

We don’t know what it is, but we want one

We don't know what it is, but we want oneWe have almost zero info on this beauty, but it has us drooling like a rabid dog. It’s a little touchscreen device that’s running Android and looks like it’s about 4.5 inches by 4 inches, like a larger version of the iPhone. Looks like it has two buttons on the top of the device and SD storage.

It may be a prototype. We don’t know who makes it or if it will even be for sale. Hopefully we’ll learn more about this device soon. If it’s real and the price is good, this could be a pretty neat open-source tablet. It’s sexy no?

Mystery swivel handset identified as Compal Tabasco

Mystery swivel handset identified as Compal TabascoIt looks like that mystery Korean handset we spotted awhile back has been identified as a MID from Compal with the strange name of Tabasco. The shot that we saw was taken at Computex 2008 in June.

The non functioning prototype features a rear facing 3.2 megapixel camera with 2x optical zoom and a flash, a front-facing webcam, and it measures about 6.3 x 3.3 x 1.3-inches with a 4.5 or 5-inch screen. The processor, as well as OS and storage capacity are unknown. So there’s still some mystery here. We have no idea if it’s on track for release or just a prototype. We may learn more at CES.

Mystery swivel prototype device shows up

Mystery swivel prototype device shows upWhat do we have here? A new mystery swivel device that seems to feature a very tiny touchpad between the “mouse” buttons, but why not just make the entire display touch sensitive? Looks like a cross between an UMPC and a MID. This was snapped at Computex 2008 in Taipei in June.

Aside from the exterior, we don’t have any details. Your guess is as good as mine. The “P” symbol is probably where the Windows key is supposed to be. Who will carry the device if and when it ever comes out? What would be the operating system be? Tune in next time on “Mysteries of the swiveling kind”.
