Motorola Milestone Ferrari Edition

Posted in Motorola by Conner Flynn on October 3rd, 2010

The Motorola Milestone (Motorola Droid) might not be the latest and greatest phone anymore, but the guys over at Boy Genius have spotted a Ferrari-branded version of the phone, giving it some new life. It looks pretty good in Ferrari red.

The device has been produced in limited quantities of course and has been given to members of the board, as well as some vip customers. Specifications are the same as the standard Milestone, so it is simply a facelift.

Nintendo Wii hits 30M sales milestone

Posted in Wii by Conner Flynn on August 10th, 2010

Nintendo must be pretty happy with the news that the Wii video game console has now sold 30 million units in the US alone. That figure was achieved in just 45 months, making it the fastest-selling console in the history of the industry. Wow.

It also hit the milestone 15 months faster than the next best-selling console. Obviously this is due to the Wii’s innovative gaming experience, even if some consoles do end up collecting dust after a few months when the novelty wears off.

Motorola undecided about Android 2.2 on the Milestone

Posted in Motorola by Conner Flynn on July 21st, 2010

Owners of the Motorola Milestone are wondering if they will be getting a firmware update to Android 2.2. Well, there is some bad news. James King, the marketing director of the European region, has stated that they still haven’t made a decision as to whether the Milestone will be getting the Android 2.2 update or not.

The issue is that it will take a lot of effort with testing and integration to make sure everything works perfectly before pushing it out. You could always choose to see it as a glass half full sort of deal, but it doesn’t sound encouraging to us.

But now the specs for this Android phone on Motorola’s developer page have been changed again, most notably it has gotten a drop in RAM from 512MB to 256MB. We aren’t sure why.

Android Market passes the 50,000 apps milestone

Posted in Android by Conner Flynn on April 24th, 2010

Let us play the Android Market’s overbearing Aunt for a minute as we pinch it’s cheeks and tell it how big it has grown since we last saw it and dig in our purse for a quarter as we pet it’s head. Though Apple is still top dog when it comes to its App Store, the Android Market is also growing at a very rapid pace.

The latest reports say that the Android Market has crossed the 50,000 app mark, which is about a week after Google confirmed the 38,000 app mark. 50,000 is still a way off from the App Store’s official 185,000, but at the rate it’s going, it’ll provide Apple with some healthy competition in no time.

Motorola Milestone launching in India this month

Posted in Motorola by Conner Flynn on March 19th, 2010

Good news for those living in India. The Motorola Milestone will be arriving in India this month on March 22nd. It will likely be pre-loaded with Android 2.1 just like the US version, which we know as the Verizon Droid.

The Milestone features a 3.7″ capacitive touchscreen display, slide-out QWERTY keyboard, a 5-megapixel autofocus camera with LED flash and lots of wireless options like HSDPA/HSUPA, Wi-Fi b/g and Bluetooth 2.0. Look for it to show up in Bollywood dance flicks sometime soon.
