Faceless Mickey Mouse UHF antenna for the Japanese

Posted in Disney by Conner Flynn on February 17th, 2011

Is anyone even using UHF antennas anymore. Apparently so. And since Japan loves Disney Characters, why not make a creepy blank-faced Mickey Mouse UHF antenna and offer it on the Japanese market. It goes by the model name of MCT2B.

It’s pretty much what it says, a blank face with the antenna component inside and a booster that uses an AC adapter. It comes in black and pink for $84 in Japan. We have just one question. Why?

Mickey Mouse remote control

Posted in Remotes by Conner Flynn on August 2nd, 2010

Hardcore Disney fans will love this. It’s a remote shaped like Mickey Mouse. I find it very creepy as it has the feet and the ears, with no face at all. It’s as if Mickey has invaded remote controls all over the world and has begun to morph into something new. Something deadly.

Thank god it’s exclusive to Japan. This Mickey Mouse remote control comes with a stand which are shaped like the mouse’s shoes. Other than controlling the TV there’s also a voice button so you can hear 9 popular Mickey Mouse lines.

Mickey Mouse digital photo frameYou may think that Star Wars is the king of Merchandising, but Disney never sleeps either. Not when there are cheap products that can have Mickey and Minnie mouse plastered all over them, along with the typical mouse “ears”.

Now Mickey Mouse fans in Japan have something new to spend their money on. This ultra-small digital photo frame. It comes with a 1.5 inch LCD and 2 Megabytes of memory which will store 100 images. You can also use it as a keychain if you like.

Disney and ASUS announce Netpal netbook for kidsDisney gadgets always tend to be more about branding than giving you a decent gadget, but we know that some of you will still want to check out the love child of ASUS and Disney. A Disney branded Netpal netbook for kids, available in “Princess Pink” or “Magic Blue” colors. (the latter even has tiny Mickey Mouse icons).

Each netbook features a kid-friendly Disney interface and built-in parental controls, as well as some customizable themes based on Mickey Mouse, Toy Story, Wall-E, and other Disney stuff they need to pimp out.

Mickey Mouse Transformer hits Japan

Mickey Mouse Transformer hits JapanSome people are obsessed with Disney. Some not so much. But the makers of this new Transformer toy from Japan clearly love both Mickey Mouse and Transformers. I admit, when we first spotted this toy in the prototype phase, at our robot sister site Botropolis, we weren’t all that impressed.

Then when we saw the first pics with some color, we still weren’t that thrilled and figured it was geared toward chumps who would buy anything Disney. However, now that we see the final product, I have to admit that it looks cool. And I’m no Mickey Mouse fan. It was on display at this week’s Tokyo Toy Forum 2009.

iRiver Mickey Mouse MP3 player gets emo

iRiver Mickey Mouse MP3 player gets emoLook, we’re no stranger to the iRiver Mickey Mouse MP3 player. Kids and women seem to love it, despite the fact that it freaks us the hell out.

Well, iRiver has updated the Mickey on crack cute little player by changing its facial expressions to match the function you’re using. Say, adjusting the volume, skipping a track, shuffling through tracks etc. This just makes it all the creepier. No doubt it will hypnotize children and train them to form some sort of crap-gadget army of the living dead.

iRiver Mickey MP3 player, now with hypnotizing eyesRiver has updated their already bizarre Mickey Mouse MP3 players with something new. This version has hypnotizing eyes and may need a good exorcism. Glowing LED demon eyes no doubt make it easier to take over the world. It also has 2GB of storage for your soul, even MP3 or WMA files. If your kid’s head turns all the way around and he/she can’t stop watching Disney movies, don’t complain to us.

Mickey Mouse speaker is all ears

Mickey Mouse speaker is all ears
If you love Mickey and want a pair of speakers to stick in your iRiver MP3 player, this might be for you. As you can see, he’s all ears as usual with his typical goofy grin. (What’s the deal with only having Mickey. What about Donald Duck? No one likes Donald?)

The stereo speaker measures 6.3 x 3.46 x 4.96 in, weighs about 21 oz, and connects to any music player using a 3,5mm stereo audio jack. Looks like it comes in silver only. You can get it from DealExtreme for $20.10.

Mickey is all about the gold
There’s gold in them there ears! iRiver is set to sell what it is calling the “assassin’s mace”. This amounts to a Mickey Mouse MP3 with gold paint on it ala Goldfinger.(Or more recently Goldmember of Austin Powers fame) Mickey fans will want to hurry as it’s only available in limited editions.

The design houses a Philips PNX0103ET sound processor. The ears will control the volume and track menu and it has an internal memory of 2GB. It’s very cute in a “If Mickey were a pimp” kind of way, as well as being simple and it won’t cost you a fortune, at $123.
