Chalkboard Coffee Mug lets you leave messages

Posted in Office Gadgets by Conner Flynn on July 5th, 2010

Your coffee mug is sacred. Yet people still mess with it. Wouldn’ it be great if you could leave a message on it? Something like “Leave this mug alone or else” or maybe a warning like “this coffee sucks”.

Well, with this coffee mug you can say whatever needs to be said. All you need is chalk. Only $8.95. Maybe serve a pretty woman in the office some coffee and write a little poem. Or anonymously tell your boss what you think.

Get messages from the grave, to your phone

Posted in News by Conner Flynn on March 21st, 2010

Phoenix-based company, Objecs has come up with the Memorial RosettaStone Tablet which allows visitors to the cemetery to access text and images from graves simply by touching their cell phone to the headstone. The Memorial RosettaStone Tablet has a microchip inside, and uses near-field communication to stream personal information. Yes, talking to the dead.

That info could be photos and even a pre-recorded message from the dead. It isn’t super expensive either. Only $225. Might as well spend the money, you can’t take it with you, right?

Ringboxx: Personalized ringtones for your landline

Ringboxx: Personalized ringtones for your landlineIf you have a family member who still uses and relies on a landline, you might want to get them a Ringboxx from Home Phone Tunes so they can get in on the ringtones action. Ringboxx lets you program ringtones for individual callers on their landline, just like you can do on your fancy mobile phone. The user can purchase tunes from the Home Phone Tunes Ringtone Store and then they’ll know instantly who’s calling without having to use caller ID. Somehow I don’t think they are going to sell many units, but I look forward to more grannies out there using rap ringtones. Check out a video below.

“Tinkling”: Smart Wind Chimes concept

“Tinkling”: Smart Wind Chimes conceptMost people either find wind chimes charming or annoying. You either love them or you hate them. Well, I’m not sure if this update to the classic noisemaker makes things better or worse. Korean designer Lufdesign has a new spin on chimes. The concept is called Tinkling, not to be confused with your favorite bathroom pastime. No, this tinkling is different. The chimes aren’t set off by the wind, but when you receive a digital message via email, voicemail or SMS. It’s blowing tail will change color and a message is displayed across the embedded screen.

Obviously, they would need to be wireless for this to work and you would place this inside as opposed to outside. Or both. Why not annoy the birds every time you get an email? I suppose the idea is that you can wander inside and outside of your home, while never missing that important message. I personally like this a whole lot better then chimes activated by wind. At least you can turn these off.
