Mechanical Yoshi is on the rampage

Posted in Toys by Conner Flynn on December 16th, 2010

You might remember that awesome Mechanical Mario from earlier this year. Well, Donald “KodyKoala” Kennedy is at it again and has created a Yoshi version.

It is simply amazing like Mario. He used a Playmobile police station for Yoshi’s back and a couple of Lego laptops for the front display and keyboards. We’re not sure how tall it is, but we picture it rampaging over a large city causing mayhem.

Project Nomad: In the future, we will ride mechanical lionsThis concept shows us one possible future, where humans will roam the earth riding on transformer-like animals. Fueling your beast is easy. Just let it eat nature’s vegetation and it will also energize the driver.

Project Nomad was created by Jason Battserby, who must be a transformer fan. It’s cat-like design allows it to traverse all kinds of terrain and even climb rocky terrain at fast speeds. So, do you think a big mechanical cat is in your future?

Mobiado Professional 105GMT Gold, mechanical watch phoneMobiado is famous for its range of high-end cell phones, and the Professional 105GMT Gold handset is their latest. They call it “the expression of mechanical perfection, mastering of aesthetic details, and the integrity of consistent craftsmanship.”

The 105GMT Gold is made from single piece of sapphire crystal, ebony wood and a CNC-machined frame with a 24-carat gold coating on top. The keypad is made from sapphire crystal too, and hand painted with gold. What makes the Professional 105GMT Gold phone stand out from the rest of these gilded luxury phones is that it features a watch mechanism at the base of the case. No idea on price, but since it will be limited to just 50 units worldwide, expect to pay a small fortune.

Cybertek Wings turn women into hot looking X-men

Cybertek Wings turn women into hot looking X-men
If Professor Xavier were wheeling down the street and saw a young lady sporting these wings, she’d be enrolled in his school for the gifted quicker then Wolverine can flick his claws. I have to say, these wings look striking and almost sexual in a geek sort of way thanks to the great pics.

The wings are made of carbon fiber and extruded aluminum and the light on the wingtips can be customized in red, green, yellow, purple, or white. Apparently the wings can extend or retract 7 times before the air pressure has to be recharged. That will take 5-10 minutes. For $1,000 they can be yours. I’m hoping that this catches on and women start flying around looking extra hot, donning their wings as fashion accessories and swooping down to snatch up unsuspecting men like a hawk. That would make me happy.

Watch with all-mechanical “digital” display
This sweet looking limited-edition Di Grisogono Meccanica DG watch looks like a hybrid mechanical-digital watch. But in fact, it’s all completely analog, with 651 pieces in total. No digital parts or LEDs at all.

Only 177 of these amazing timepieces are going to be available to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the company. They’re calling it the most complicated digital-analog timepiece in the world, and it probably is since the digital display is actually mechanical, with rolling tubes that form the digital segments. It will be available in four styles. Red gold, titanium and gold, titanium and platinum and titanium and rubber. The Meccanica DG is also waterproof to 100 feet
