Dell’s Looking Glass tablet stops by the FCC

We’ve been waiting for Dell’s Looking Glass tablet to arrive and now the device has finally had a sit down with the FCC, which has approved its integrated 3G chip for the UMTS bands II, IV and V, hinting at compatibility for AT&T and T-Mobile.

It also got approval for Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR and Wi-Fi b/g/n. The device features an SD card slot along with a SIM card slot. We don’t yet know if the device will support voice calling, though. CES is just around the corner, so we are sure to hear more details from Dell very soon.

Dell 7-inch Tablet to arrive in a few weeks

If you got all excited when Michael Dell whipped out the 7-inch tablet recently, then we have some good news. According to the Wall Street Journal, Dell’s Greater China President Amit Midha has said that the device will be arriving “very, very soon,”. Within the next few weeks.

Apparently, there will be a bunch of new devices from Dell in the coming months, including devices in 10, 4, and 3 inch form factors. The 7-inch device has been confirmed to be powered by Android, but Windows is expected on some devices as well.

Dell Looking Glass Android Tablet caught on video

Dell’s upcoming Looking Glass 7-inch tablet wasn’t showing off in pictures when Michael Dell took it out the other day, but now a video of the event has surfaced, so we now have a better look at this Android device.

We can see a volume rocker on the side of the device, as well as a headphone jack, a possible PDMI connector port (like the Streak), and a switch that might be for rotation or to lock it. The device shows up after 1:27 in the video below.

Dell has unveiled the specifications of their upcoming Dell Looking Glass 7-inch tablet. The tablet is powered by nVidia Tegra 2 and the Android-based device features a 7-inch touch-sensitive display with 800×600 resolution, a 4GB RAM, a 4GB flash storage, an SDHC card slot for expandable storage up to 32GB, a 1.3MP webcam, Bluetooth, 3G and even an optional TV tuner.

The Dell Looking Glass tablet will arrive in November for an unknown price. It’s not clear if you’ll be able to make phone calls on the Looking Glass or not, but it looks like this one is targeted at iPad buyers instead of iPhone customers.
