Posted in Harmon Kardon by Conner Flynn on January 26th, 2011

Looking to upgrade your home theater? Harman Kardon’s latest home theater soundbar, the Harmon Kardon SB16 might be the ticket. It is specially designed for people who lack a large physical space, but want to enjoy a quality home theater experience. It features direct connections to your TV, DVD player, video game console or other compatible devices so you can place the subwoofer in any position within the same room as the SB16 thanks to its wireless connectivity.

Other features include a two-way dual-driver, left and right soundbar speaker channels, each with two 3-inch (75mm) midrange drivers and a 3/4-inch (19mm) dome tweeter. The wireless subwoofer offers 100 watts of power while incorporating a 10-inch (250mm) driver within a ported enclosure.

Toshiba is packing stereo Harman Kardon speakers with two watts each in their latest laptop, along with an Atom N550 processor, 2GB of DDR3 memory, a 250GB HDD, 10 hours of battery life, and a 10.1-inch 1024 x 600 LED-backlit display. Finally a laptop that will wake the dead.

But if you want something quieter, there’s also the NB500, which has the same specs but without the sound system and stepping down to an Atom N455, while it rocks a lower price. Both ship in the first quarter of 2011.

Harmon Kardon see-through speakers are ice cool

Harmon Kardon see-through speakers are ice coolHarmon-Kardon offers the latest in the speakers that look like ice trend. At last Superman has many speaker options to choose from, for his Fortress of Solitude. Wonder Woman is pretty happy too, because these match her invisible plane.

I like the angles on these. They look vaguely alien. Harmon Kardon unveiled the GLA-55 see-through speakers at IFA 2008. They offer a 100-watt bi-amplified digital amplifier coupled with DSP equalization along with proprietary tech like the Atlas AL drivers and woofers and a CMMD tweeter, plus optimization for digital sound. They sport touch sensitive controls and they do stand out. They should be available in autumn 2008 worldwide. No word on pricing.
