Bison Airlighter Lights Fires at 2600 Degrees

Posted in Grilling by Darrin Olson on May 8th, 2014

Bison AirlighterA gas lighter is almost a must these days for even somewhat frequent grilling or hanging out around the firepit, but even then fires can still put up some resistance. Enter the Bison Airlighter: a butane gas powered lighter that puts out 2600 degrees to start your flames without kindling or paper in under a minute.

In addition to the extreme flame, and not unlike the Looflighter we saw a few years back, the Airlighter blows air with a built in fan to oxygenate your fire and get it going faster. Bison even included a front-facing flashlight and a bottle opener on the bottom.

Steampunk blunderbuss actually fires

We’ve covered many steampunk mods around these parts. Some are actually Steampunk while others are just a lot of brass attachments glued onto a gadget. Well this one is Steampunk alright. And these guns actually fire.

The blunderbuss shown above shoots not bullets, but rubber balls. That doesn’t mean it won’t hurt like a real bullet though. It shoots those rubber balls fast enough to actually penetrate cardboard from a distance. Ouch! And while we don’t want to be on the wrong end of this thing, we can’t help admiring the craftsmanship. Microsoft to announce no more Seinfeld ads tomorrow

Posted in Microsoft by Conner Flynn on September 17th, 2008

Microsoft to announce no more Seinfeld ads tomorrowApparently the new series of Windows Vista ads starring Jerry Seinfeld and Bill Gates did not impress Microsoft, or many others for that matter. Microsoft has now basically admitted that the ads bombed, sucked and otherwise blew and they’ve actually fired Jerry Seinfeld. Bill Gates being Bill Gates will stick around and may be back in future ads.

The series will go on, but not with Seinfeld. Which likely means without the funny. And who knows what direction it will take. Personally after the suckage of the first ad, I thought they were beginning to hit their stride. So tomorrow you’ll hear some Microsoft spin regarding phase two of the project. That would be the phase without Seinfeld.
