Posted in ebooks by Conner Flynn on April 25th, 2011

The NOOK Color’s software was finally been updated with a bunch of new and useful features, thanks to the 1.2 update. The 1.2 update gives the NOOK Color much more potential to become a full-fledged honest to goodness tablet. The update includes a fully functioning email client, support for Adobe Flash player and Adobe Air, and you can also purchase apps.

The Nook color is sounding pretty right about now huh? There are already 125 apps, like Epicurious, Angry Birds and Pulse to name a few. The underlying Android OS has been updated to Android 2.2 (Froyo) and you can expect several system improvements, including better browser performance.

Hotmail announces disposable e-mail addresses

Hotmail Aliases will let you create multiple, “disposable” e-mail accounts that all filter back to your primary email. You can already do this on Yahoo, but you have to pay extra for Plus service. Gmail will let you create unique addresses too, but in that case you can only add an extension to your existing name.

With Hotmail’s solution you can create anything you want. So I guess feel free to flame anyone you want, totally anonymously without giving yourself away. Is that really a good thing? You decide.

LG GW300 QWERTY phone for Facebook and e-mailLG has announced an entry-level messaging handset in the LG GW300. It comes pre-loaded with Facebook, letting you poke your friends to your hearts content. Some other features include a full QWERTY keypad, a 2.4” 240×320 QVGA display, stereo Bluetooth connectivity, USB 2.0 alongside 2.5G GSM, GPRS/EDGE network support.

No 3G here. Why they wouldn’t throw in Wi-Fi support in absence of 3G we have no idea. No word on the camera’s megapixels either, but you shouldn’t expect too much considering that this one is on the cheaper side.
