Nokia N8 phones randomly dying worldwide

Posted in Nokia by Conner Flynn on November 22nd, 2010

Nokia’s N8 smartphones were supposed to save the company, but this strategy seems to have hit a snag. The problem? Well, the initial batch of N8 handsets worldwide have begun to suffer from problems concerning power issues, including a dead phone that won’t boot up or light up even with a charger plugged in.

This was originally thought to be an isolated case, but has now expanded into a 6 page thread on the official Nokia forums. Things aren’t looking good for Nokia’s flagship phone. Hopefully there is some kind of fix coming soon.

Save electricity with dying flowers

Save electricity with dying flowersSaving electricity in the home is a good thing. We all benefit. Cutting back on the power you waste can save plenty of money on the electric bill too. But we’re only human and could use a little reminder sometimes. A reminder that isn’t some treehugger starring in a PSA on TV.

The Wilting Flower from English designer Carl Smith will remind you. It’s a little known fact that people pay more attention to a flower then they do to a preaching hippie. Plus, the flower looks like it’s bathed. This little wilting flower changes from blue, to red, to yellow, to purple, then turns off, as our power demands increase. But as it changes, the petals slowly close and the flower keels over in its vase. In other words, you are a murdering bastard and it hopes you feel bad.

The Accurate watch is never wrong

The Accurate watch
The company that thought up this watch must like being right all the time. When a watch maker puts a simple statement like “remember you will die” on the hour and minute hands, you really can’t argue or tell them that they are full of crap.

I haven’t really worn a watch for a long time, and this one doesn’t make me want to put it on anytime soon. Though it’s probably great for the Emo and Goth kids on your block. Personally, I don’t think we needed the reminder, but if you are THAT forgetful about your eventual dirt nap, you can pick one of these up for $145. It might read better if it said, ““remember you will die with $145 less…”
