Nokia N900 owners might have a some good news soon. Right now, the phone is powered by Maemo, but an upcoming PR 1.3 update will allow the phone to dual boot between Maemo and MeeGo, offering you a different experience on the same phone.

There is also the possibility of developing applications supporting both operating systems, based on Qt and Qt Mobility APIs on the Maemo side. The N900 might not be the hottest thing around with the launch of the N8, iPhone 4 and other competitors, but this update would definitely breathe some new life into this phone.

Acer dual-booting Android and Windows Netbook on the way

Posted in Acer by Conner Flynn on April 1st, 2010

Don’t get too excited. It’s not official yet, but it is coming and it will be a follow-up to the Aspire One D250, and will dualboot both Android and Windows. How do we know? Acer’s mobile product manager Martino Mombrini let it slip yesterday to Electricpig.

He said that the chassis of the D260 dualbook will be redesigned so it won’t look like the D250. He also took the opportunity to talk about how they want to launch a Chrome OS netbook, with a Q3 release date “likely.” What do you think? Interested?
