The Acer Cromia Chromebook 3G is $449.99, which is almost $50 less than Samsung Series 5 with 3G. Pretty good news if you have been waiting for this one.

More details on Sony PlayStation Vita

Posted in PS Vita by Conner Flynn on June 9th, 2011

It was thought that the PlayStation Vita might be able to do video output using the multiport on the bottom, but now it is looking like that’s a big no according to the official FAQ. However, Sony exec Michael Denny said today that the PS Vita will be region-free just like the PS3. That’s some good news.

Sony has ruled out a UMD reader of any sort. No surprise there, but Sony says that it will “consider every possibility for support on bought UMD games,”. I wonder what they will do on that front. Nothing at the moment, but soon perhaps.

Verizon Droid 3 Details Leak

Posted in Motorola by Conner Flynn on May 22nd, 2011

We’ve known that the Droid 3 is coming soon, but we really didn’t know many details about the device. Now thanks to the folks at Techno Buffalo and their reliable source, we have some details. The Droid 3 will feature a 4″ qHD display as suspected and there will also be a keyboard that features a 5th row of buttons for dedicated number buttons.

Other features include a dual-core processor(We aren’t sure if it will be an NVIDIA Tegra 2 or a TI OMAP SoC), an HDMI out port, a front facing camera and a rear 8 mp camera. It should arrive in June. Nothing on pricing however. And sadly this won’t be a part of Verizon’s 4G LTE network.

Posted in Cameras by Conner Flynn on May 16th, 2011

A leaked photo of the new Sony Nex C3 showed up awhile back and now we can share some of it’s specifications, like a new 16.2 megapixel Sony Exmor sensor for starters. Aside from that the Sony NEX C3 is said to have an ISO range of 200 to 12800 and is capable of recording HD video in 720p. There is also a new menu interface and a bunch of new picture effects.

Other features include 25 AF points, a 1/4000 top shutter speed, a 3 inch LCD display and a built in HDR function, as well as face detection and an improved battery life compared to the previous Nex models. Sounds pretty sweet, but how much will it cost?

Posted in Samsung by Conner Flynn on March 22nd, 2011

This shot taken from CTIA by the guys over at Pocketnow shows off some Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 promo material. It may not be the actual device, but it’s almost as good and gives us some info. Looks like it’s comprised of the Live Panel homescreen with custom widgets, and an app switcher for BlackBerry PlayBook-like app switching with live previews of the apps that are open in the background.

This image also tells us some of the specs. It sports an 8.9″ display with 1280×800 resolution (that’s a higher pixel density than the Motorola Xoom). It’s very thin too at just 8.6mm, and will weigh just 470 grams. And the CPU onboard is a dual core 1GHz chip.

Photos of the HTC EVO Shift 4G spotted

Posted in HTC by Conner Flynn on December 21st, 2010

The HTC EVO Shift 4G has been pretty elusive, but now it has shown up in some real honest to god photos. The QWERTY slider smartphone from Sprint opens up to reveal a chrome bezel underneath. The tipster who submitted the photo also mentioned the inclusion of an 800MHz processor inside, HTC Sense for an easier user experience and a couple of status LEDs above the keyboard.

As for the rest of the details, we just have to wait for Sprint to reveal them. Since it is going to be one of the high-end models, we can safely expect the HTC EVO Shift 4G to retail for $199.99 with a 2-year contract.

Motorola Android 3.0 tablet gets more detailed shots, specs

Posted in Motorola by Conner Flynn on December 20th, 2010

Motorola’s Android 3.0 tablet has showed up again with a leak that shows clearer images and some more detailed specs. The new images show a 10-inch tablet with the completely overhauled interface, which includes the new navigation bar and lock screen. The back shows the five-megapixel camera with flash as well as a large external speaker and what looks like standard USB ports on the bottom.

Inside, the tablet sports a dual-core NVIDIA Tegra 2 clocked at 1GHz with 512MB of RAM. It may not be available in a Wi-Fi only edition and could need a 3G or 4G connection to get online. Verizon is also connected to the tablet and could use it as a flagship for its LTE network, though 3G editions with EVDO and HSPA have been pegged for other carriers.

iPad 2 details surface

Posted in iPad by Conner Flynn on November 26th, 2010

Digitimes is reporting that Apple will be adding five new features to the iPad 2. These include video chat, a thinner glass panel for better portability, a USB port, new display technology and 3-axis gyroscopes. The video chat we’re talking about is likely FaceTime, so that means that the camera feature will be hitting the iPad.

The improved display could be Apple’s Retina Display. The USB port would be very welcomed by everyone. We’ll have to see how this rumor pans out. It does all make sense, but that doesn’t mean it’s true.
