StressWatch will calm you with colors

Posted in Concepts by Conner Flynn on September 27th, 2009

StressWatch will calm you with colorsWe live in stressful times. Traffic is stressful, so are long lines at the grocery store. So is your job, since your boss is always on your case. Oh and all of those bills. It’s enough to make you scream. Serenity now! The StressWatch can help. Maybe.

It’s a design concept that reads heart rate and body temperature data and then interprets them as levels of stress on the trippy screen. The black bar at the bottom is the stress line. And if the cool colors on the watch turn into hot pink, red or orange, man you are stressed. The idea is that it will help you know when you need to calm down.

Yamaha MyRoom II: Ultimate office for shut-ins

Yamaha MyRoom II: Ultimate office for shut-insWhen you want to get away from it all, sometimes it seems like there’s nowhere to go. All you desire is a little peace and quiet. Is that too much to ask? You need your own little Fortress of Solitude away from kids, TVs, phones, etc. A place to drown out the sounds of the world so you can work. Serenity now!

The Yamaha MyRoom II is more then happy to rescue you with a soundproof booth the size of a tiny prison cell. It has enough room for you and a chair and desk. It even has it’s own air conditioning system and adjustable lighting. The whole thing is about, 4.5 by 6 feet, so you won’t be taking any naps. You might also want to throw problem people inside, so you have the now quiet house to yourself. What are the chances these things end up with WoW stickers all over and nerds enter but never leave?

Sweety Buddy device helps with stress

Sweety Buddy device helps with stress
With our lives being so hectic, it’s hard to de-stress. Which is probably why we turn to the computer to help us. After all, that’s where many of us spend large amounts of time. The Sweety concept will help. Or so they claim. Personally, I don’t see how.

This thing looks like Kenny from South Park. After he died and attained ghostly form. Now on a flowery surf board. He’s come back not to haunt, but to calm you via graphic patterns on the screen under his hood. Apparently Sweety can also play interactive games with you as you manipulate its soft body by squeezing. That aint right at all.

RelaxStyle Lamp puts you under the sea

RelaxStyle Lamp puts you under the sea
If you need to unwind, the RelaxStyle Room Palette Effect lamp might be just your thing. It will transport you to a peaceful undersea world at the push of a button. The lamp projects light onto your walls or ceiling that looks like waves. This gives users the feeling of being submerged in water, looking up into the sunlight.

It has a timer that will automatically shut the light show down after 120 minutes. You will know you use this too much when your mind is altered enough for you to start singing about living in a yellow submarine. Or about how you would love to live in an Octopus’ gaden in the shade.
