The Archos 9 Internet Tablet now has an SSD, while the Archos 7 Home Tablet will now feature a faster 800MHz processor, 8GB flash memory and Google Android 2.1 Eclair. The Archos 7 still has 7-inch display with a 800 × 480 pixel resolution along with a resistive touchscreen.
Archos has always made quality products and now they are offering up two Android-powered Archos Home Tablets that will each cost only $200. The Archos 7 Home Tablet is basically a refresh to their Archos 5 Internet Tablet, a 7-inch touchscreen Android tablet with Wi-Fi and USB. A 2GB model will be available in April for about $200 across the pond.
The Archos 8 Home Tablet is an 8-inch touchscreen tablet with 4GB of storage that will be available across the pond in May for about $200 as well.
On the same day that Apple is slated to announce its much hyped tablet, Archos makes the news with some whispers of an Archos 7 tablet powered by Google’s Android operating system. The Archos 7 is much like its smaller relative, the Archos 5 and features a 7″ touchscreen display with a 800 x 480 resolution.
Some other specs include at least 8GB of storage, an SDHC memory card slot, Wi-Fi, GPS and pre-loaded Google apps. Look for it to arrive in March from 180 Euros and up. Look for Apple’s tablet to hit later today and laugh.
