Pentax unveils GPS add-on for DSLR cameras

Posted in Pentax by Conner Flynn on June 5th, 2011

The O-GPS1 is a GPS unit that allows geotagging of images. It attaches to your camera and allows the camera to add latitude, longitude, altitude, UTC capture time and direction as image metadata. Then you can use the data to place images in mapping software like Google Earth or just use it to organize your files.

If you own the K-5 and K-r models, you can use the ‘Astrotracer’ feature which predicts the movement of celestial objects and uses the sensor shift mechanism to track the movement to give astrophotographs with single points, rather than star-trails. Stargazers will love this feature.

HTC HD2 to get battery pack add-on with kickstand

Posted in HTC by Conner Flynn on January 24th, 2010

The HTC HD2 smartphone will be getting a new accessory soon that will double the device’s battery life and allow it to stand up on it’s own in portrait or landscape orientation for when you watch videos. The HD2 Extended Battery will be offered by Clove, a UK electronics retailer.

It’s not a case, which makes it a bit unusual. It’s basically a thicker battery with an integrated flip-out kickstand. It will cost users about $73 when it ships in February.

Dynamite Data Firefox add-on helps find lowest price

dynamitedataAnytime I am looking to buy some new hardware for my computer it seems like I spend hours comparing prices to find the best deal. Sometimes I get sick of looking and just buy without doing all the comparisons I know I could do and then I end up thinking in the back of my head I could have got it cheaper.

I ran across a new add-on for Firefox called Dynamite Data that is cool and will help find the lowest prices for any product you are shopping for. Once the add-on is installed all you need to do is go to a product page on any website and the add-on will show you how much the product costs from other websites.
