Logitech Revue drops to $199

Posted in Logitech by Conner Flynn on May 15th, 2011

Logitech hopes to move a whole lotta units of its Google TV hardware by dropping the price of the Revue to $199 at Amazon. The $100 price drop is likely to help make a path for future hardware based on Android 3.1 and it also makes this the least expensive Google TV hardware yet.

It may also have to do with much lower than expected sales and they are hoping to make sales jump in the next several weeks. The device should be upgradeable to Android 3.1.

$199 Nintendo Wii Best Buy ad spottedLast week it was a Toys R Us ad showing the Wii for a Wii-diculous $199. Now a Best Buy ad showing off the same price has surfaced. It could be phoshopped, we’ll just have to wait and see.

But given the recent drop in demand for the system, along with the fact that the PS3 and Xbox have both had price cuts, it seems like we are glimpsing the not so distant future. What’s $50 to Nintendo? They’re making a ton of money on Wiimotes alone.

Sure, it isn’t the newest handset in the world, having been released in 2007, and it isn’t the flashiest, but it still has many useful features.
