BenQ GL series LCDs with 12,000,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio

Posted in BenQ by Conner Flynn on April 16th, 2010

BenQ’s new GL series of monitors boast a 12,000,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio. It’s the industry’s highest and, according to BenQ, helps to add “color depth and definition to darkened and complex visuals.” Aside from that, the 18.5-inch GL930, 19-inch GL931, 20-inch GL2030, 21.5-inch GL2230 and 22-inch GL2231 models each have fairly standard specs.

We don’t have specs on all the models yet, but some of those specs include a 5ms response time, LED backlighting, and a 1,600 x 900 resolution on the 20-incher, which will be the first model available in July.

Dell’s Inspiron Mini 9 and 12 get the art treatmentLately Dell has gone a little artist crazy with new colors and art for many of their models, so it’s not very shocking to see the Inspiron Mini 9 and 12 get into the action. There are five patterns by artist Tristan Eaton, with the same stuff you are familiar with under the hood. These painted Minis will run you an extra $50 over the base price of the regular models, $349 for the Mini 9 and $549 for the Mini 12. I’m sure you can’t contain your excitement.

$12,000 bullet-proof Polo shirtIn these trying economic times, as the divide between the rich and the poor grows ever greater, the rich need to protect themselves. Landing comfortably safe with your golden parachute may have protected you when you ran your bank into the ground, but it won’t keep you safe from the angry villagers with torches.

Or worse, guns. Joe six-pack is pretty pissed at guys like you, dontcha know. This polo shirt from Caballero will protect you from their bullets while letting you look casual. It will protect you from a 9mm pistol, so that you may live to gorge yourself on the American financial system one more day. $12,000 is nothing my wealthy friend. You’ve earned the bullets, so get yourself a bullet-proof shirt.
