Super SideBar dispenses booze quickly
I’m not much of a drinker myself, but I can understand serious drinkers needing to get to their stash quickly and without delay in order to calm those shakes. Well you got it, my always intoxicated friend.

This thing here is like having a faucet full of happy water. In fact, it will dispense up to five different liquids just by touching of a button. Like I said, it’s for those who are serious drinkers with a price tag of $499. Really though, I don’t want to see you hittin’ the sauce in the AM using your kid’s juice glasses OK?

MacBook Air now $500 cheaper
The MacBook Air may be slim, but it’s price is pretty hefty. Thankfully, Apple is now selling the super slim MacBook Air for $2598, that’s down from $3098.

The slashing of the price is due to a cut in price for two of the components. The Intel Core 2 Duo processor upgrade for the Air’s 1.8GHz went from $200 to $100. Also, the cost of the Flash memory based 64GB SDD drive upgrade from $999 to $599. Now, you can configure a 1.6GHz MacBook Air with a SDD Drive starting at $2398. Still pretty expensive, but that’s quite a savings.

The Lost OnesI have never really been into graphic novels like “30 days of Night”, but I did like the flick based on the graphic novel. Zune Arts is normally associated with customized Zune players but its latest release is a graphic novel written by Steve Niles, the same guy who wrote “30 Days of Night”.

The graphic novel is called “The Lost Ones” and the story follows Duncan, Roxy, Rasheed, and Cynthia as a day of extreme planet jumping ends up in a race for their lives and to get back home as they are pursued by an alien race trying to kill them.

NVIDIA Q2 profits take $200M hit

Posted in NVIDIA by Shane McGlaun on July 3rd, 2008

NVIDIA LogoNVIDIA is by far the largest and most profitable maker of video cards and GPUs on the planet. This week NVIDIA announced its Q2 fiscal business update and its profits weren’t up to expectations from investors or analysts.

NVIDIA stated that its Q2 revenue and gross margins are expected to be lower that it previously stated in its conference call in May. NVIDIA says that it expects total revenue to be in the area of $875 million to $950 million. This reduction is blamed in part on market weakness around the world and delayed next generation MCP products along with price adjustments to be competitive.

If you have something to say to your fellow humans, personalized messages can be flashed from the display along the entire cockpit!. Harsha Vardhan made the vehicle out of high tech materials like lexan, carbon fiber, etc. The seats inside swivel. Looks like a comfy little vehicle to get crushed in.

Beer Barrel R2-D2 Steampunk sculpture
Here’s what you get when a mad scientist from the 19th century creates a droid. The only thing missing is C3PO in a gentleman’s suit and bowler. It was made by Deviant Art user Amoebabloke, who has mad droid modding talent.

It’s got to be one of the cooler steampunk projects I’ve seen. In fact I want this droid to have it’s own show, solving crimes in Victorian London, meeting Jack the Ripper etc. Have my people call your people.
